The Regional Comity for Tourism (CRT) has published the revenues generated from tourism in the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (Paca). For 2011, this is 14 billion Euros that have been spent out of whom 5 billion come from foreign tourists. And the business keeps on growing.

Most of the foreign visitors come from Europe, 15% are Italians, another 15% from the United Kingdom. The Americans count for 6% of the total.

The daily expenses of a foreign tourist a sharply above the one of French visitor, it is 114€ versus 53€.

The largest expenses are for the catering, 32% of the budget followed by the accommodation which account for 29%.

Accommodations are hotels and rentals as well.

There are in Provence villas to rent for every kind of clientele, from the small typical mas (the traditional Provencal farmhouse) to the luxury villa nested in a park.

For example, not far from St Tropez, the villa St Julien is a vast luxury villa, decorated with taste and care. It is located in the middle of a park planted with trees. That’s the perfect place for relaxing holydays.
